The Academy started when the company started in 2005. In the beginning, they interviewed and trained potential photographers to be professional photographers, and coached them in all aspects, from front-line capturing moments to backend photo editing and business management. Several of them are still in the industry making awesome images for their clients.
Bernard Teo, is the Principal and Chief Trainer for the Academy. He is a Workforce Skills Qualified (WSQ) instructor with an Advance Certification in Learning Performance (ACLP). He conducts Skill Future Singapore (SSG) accredited basic photography courses every month. Bernard who is an EOS Master (Canon’s ambassadorship program) with Canon Singapore, is also a Canon Imaging Academy instructor, who is often engaged to teach primary, secondary and junior college students for their Co-curriculum activities (CCA) since 2019.
The Avenue 8 team of instructors have started a series of short workshops targeted to help photographers achieve a certain image, they have been longing to capture within a certain genre. These small group workshops are very focused and results-driven, aiming to achieve that image with an intense 3-hour training.
Avenue 8 Academy is actively scouting for potential talents from these learners to help them create a side hustle from their hobby and some may even develop it into full-fledged businesses if they have the interest and motivation to proceed. Seed funding by their parent company is an option open to them to seek funds for their start-up.
The Vision for Avenue 8 Academy is to be a leader in effective learning in photography. We want to build a community of photographers who are confident, conscientious and to pay-it-forward to other photographer who are on their learning journey.
Their Mission at every lesson is to teach photographers effectively how to achieve the image they want within 3 hours. This will only be possible with our unique teaching strategies.
